Director of Continuing Care Services

Teresa has worked in the Social / Behavioral Health Services in the state of Arizona since 1980. Teresa lived and worked in Northern Arizona for several years which provided her very unique experiences. Teresa’s vast experience includes: working as a counselor at Mingus Mountain Estates, (a long term residential, equestrian treatment center for adolescent girls) and working as a Case Manager and Program Coordinator with Arizona Long Term Care Services, Yavapai Rehabilitation, Turning Point Youth Shelter and also Juvenile probation. In addition, Teresa worked in private practice as a Counselor and a Program Coordinator offering Community Educational Seminars for professionals in the legal, educational and mental health fields. While employed at AZ Long Term Care Services in Yavapai County, Teresa developed the Title 36 accountability program and worked in conjunction with local mental health agencies and the court system to over see funding and court hearings for those receiving mental health evaluations by the state of Arizona. Teresa gained experience working with Developmentally Disabled and Severely Mentally ill individuals while employed at Yavapai Rehabilitation Center and Arizona Long Term Care and she was involved with Housing and Foster Care support programs.

In addition to her work in social services Teresa has also functioned as Adjunct Faculty for Prescott College and Yavapai College and instructed Psychology and Art classes. While working as adjunct faculty Teresa developed the initial Dream Interpretation Course at Yavapai College. Teresa joined the clinical team at Center for Hope in May of 2005, and was originally hired to work as a Care Coordinator for 24 women and their children in our residential program. In January of 2006, as our program grew, so did our need for a Continuing Care program to provide services to our program Alumni. Teresa took on this challenge and began providing services to our women and children as they transitioned into housing and employment. For the next 2 years, in addition to her work with CFH Alumni Teresa also provided support services to the family members of the Center for Hope participants. Our Family program provides education and support to family members and under Teresa’s facilitation has been tremendously successful.

In August of 2008, Teresa was promoted to and accepted the position of Director of Continuing Care Services. In this new role Teresa will focus her efforts to grow and expand the services currently provided to CFH alumni, to include an Outpatient program and Housing. Teresa graduated from Prescott College in 1986 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling with minors in Writing and Fine Arts.
