Joronda Montaño

Director of Prevention

Joronda Montaño is the Director of Prevention Services with Community Bridges. As a two time graduate of Arizona State University, she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcasting with dual minors in Business and Spanish and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Human Behavior. Joronda oversees the Prevention Partnership Department at Community Bridges which serves tens of thousands of youth and adults each year.

Joronda leads a dynamic team of prevention professionals who provide community-based training and education, outreach, and after school programs, and participate in local collaborations who actively promote the prevention of substance abuse in our community.

Over the last 10 years, Joronda has worked with youth in multiple settings including life skills training, social and behavioral skills development, recruiting for alternative activities, mentoring and athletic coaching. During her undergraduate studies, she began mentoring youth with Girl Scouts of America, training young girls ages 6-13 in outdoor activities and life skills. She then worked with the City of Phoenix as a Recreation Leader designing and supervising team building activities, and subsequently went on to work for the Maricopa County Community Colleges, coaching underprivileged youth in Track and Field. Joronda was a three time All-American Track athlete at ASU.
